Using the Gas hob

Gas flow to the burners is controlled by the control knobs (5,6,7 & 8). There are 3 positions shown on the control panel.

Illustration of the different gas hobs on the cooker.

The burners can be set to the desired position by turning the control knobs through the adjustment range in an anti-clockwise direction.

Turning the control knob to the positions shown below achieves the following:

Off position

Closed (OFF position)

Maximum position

Provides fast boiling function

Minimum position

Provides simmer function.

Igniting the burners:

  1. Lightly press the control knob down and turn the knob anti clockwise to the maximum position to start the ignition process (a clicking sound will be heard). Hold down the control knob for a few seconds after ignition to allow the safety device to detect that the burner is lit
  2. Once the burner is lit, adjust the burner power to the required position

Safety notes:

The ignition device should not be operated for more than 15 seconds. If a burner does not ignite, or turns off accidentally, turn the control knob to the off position and wait for one minute before attempting to re-ignite.

Using the electric hobs

To switch the hob on/activate a zone and set a power level:

To switch the hob on, touch and hold the "On/off sensor" for the desired zone for approximately two seconds. The hob will beep and the relevant cooking zone indicator will show “0”.

Use the plus or minus setting selectors to set the desired power level. The standard power levels range from 1 (minimum) to 9 (maximum). The hob will then begin heating.

To adjust the power level on a zone at any time during use, press the "On/off sensor" (1) for that zone and use the plus or minus setting selectors to set the desired power level.

Please note: If a power level is not set within approximately ten seconds of switching the hob on, the hob will switch off automatically.

To deactivate a zone/turn the hob off:

Simply press the "On/off sensor" (1) for that zone and touch the plus and minus setting selectors simultaneously. Alternatively, you can use the minus setting selector (5) to return the power level to 0. The cooking zone indicator will display a "0" to confirm that the zone is now inactive.

When all the zones are at "0", the hob will switch off automatically after approximately ten seconds.
